As most of you will know I bought 2 blackrocks and 2 light sussex over the summer as POLs :-)12 . 1 blackrock and the 2 light sussex are happily laying and have been sometime. The other blackrock seems somewhat...well delayed :-)11

She's getting there her wattles have begun to appear but it's taken months. I've attached photos of Joan (after of arc - the slow one) and Curie (Marie!) our egg machine (only one day offf since we got her)

Hi, she looks younger - she is also "gypsy faced" so not a true black rock- she will not go bright red- more of a plum/maroon colour- she stills looks a little way off laying- and with the daylight decreasing she might not lay until next spring! Having said that she looks in very good condition.
regards, David :)

Agree with David, she still looks a bit young, are you sure she is a black rock? :? She is beautiful, lovely feathering too :D

Well she was sold to me as a blackrock, but it seems all my lovely chickens are mongrels! :-)11 If she wasn't a blackrock what could she possibly be?

I didn't realise how much younger she was when we got them (they were meant to be all POLs), she's always bee bigger than the rest of them. She's very lovely though :) .

Thanks again for the the posts.
