Hi
We have recently had problems with feather pecking so we sprayed our girls this morning with Nettex anti feather pecking spray.

Since spraying them first thing this morning all four girls have laid. There is no spray visible on the eggs but they stink off the stuff!

I was wondering if the eggs are still alright to eat? If not, how many days after spraying until it is Ok to eat the eggs again (although I realise we will have to spray the girls again in a few days time). I'm probably going to throw todays eggs away as the smell is so bad anyway.

Many thanks

It should have no effect at all on the contents of the eggs Bramax. But if you have used so much that the eggs smell of it because it's got into the nest box material it may taint them by virtue of it getting onto the eggs themselves. Sounds as though you have applied a bit too much. It should only go onto the affected areas of the bird.

I eat mine after spraying with no ill effects, in fact it didn't occur to me there might be any. I've never had any smell on the eggs either.
