Here's a couple of piccies of my girls (Mabel - cuckoo; Phantom - silver; Flo - partridge).

They were supposed to all be 16 weeks when we got them in August, but Flo seems to be more developed than the others. Mabel's the friendliest but everyone says she looks prehistoric, bless her! Do you think she looks a while off laying? :)

They are gorgeous.Usually, when they are going to start lating their combs and wattles go a deeper red.On the fence,Flo looks as if she has the deepest red colouring. My black pekin pullet hasn't started laying yet, also, her comb and wattle are still pink.I'm expecting her to start laying in the spring.

Oh, thank you for your lovely comments! That's made my day. :D

I must say I'm very proud of them but like all new mums, a bit of a worrier!! Am I looking after them properly?, are they healthy/happy/warm enough?? You get the picture! I could watch them for hours though - can't wait for the lighter days, and hopefully, eggs! :P

I agree with you there Pony Girls, hurry up the summer.I got my first 4 chooks at the start of september(my birthday pressie to myself ;) )and I spent a lot of time sat outside with a mug of coffee with the chooks. It was lovely.
Your girls do look great, healthy and happy so you're obviously doing everything fine.

The fact that you're worrying and researching and asking questions means they are probably very well looked after ;)
