Insulating hen houses

Hello all
My new hen house is almost finished, just got to set up my poo catching tray and a little bit of sand & cement to patch up some gaps in the floor.

Now I know that chickens can withstand a fair amount of cold but was wondering if lining the roost area with an old blanket would make much of a difference - in winter of course!

--------Oz -I think the main blanket benefits would be for red mite and other creepies,I think mould etc would like it too---I doubt it would make any difference to temp. Now , underfloor heating and cashmere bed Socks I am sure would keep them cosy. Ros

I wondered about the red mite issue.
Maybe I was just being a bit too thorough, the hens should be okay as long as they're protected from any drafts in the house and plenty of diatom of course!
