I've got 4 cayuga ducklings. I've been keeping them inside as the weather has been so bad with time outside when weather permits. When outside they are kept in a pen so the adult ducks and chickens cant chase them.
Today I noticed that the smallest duckling has somehow got an injury to the top of his/her leg. It looks like it has been scalped (for want of a better word). Its approx 1 inch in diameter. Hes still eating and drinking and appears to be moving on it ok, is there anything I should do or just leave well alone and keep an eye on it.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thank you

aww poor little thing!
Check for what could have caused it... sticky out bits of wire etc... keep it clean clean clean and keep an eye on him daily for any sign of infection.

As long as it's clean it should heal very quickly, I had a duckling that the fox got hold of - a well aimed shoe got her to drop it, but she had taken all the skin off it's whole back, I kept it in a clean box by the aga and within 10 days you'd never know anything had happened to it - was amazing how fast birds heal!!!
