i have decided i want 1 of each :lol:

lavendar pekin bantam
mottled pekin bantam
blue , gold , black , partridge silkies
buff cochin
but at £35 pol each forget that :lol: well thats from a poultry farm semi close to me
 
£35 is a little steep.

You could try going to a good show (the National coming up shortly?) as they often have sale birds that are very well priced according to their quality.

i know there is one coming up but i bet its next month which for me is a bad month for money :lol: so i may treat myself in the new year and i wont be paying that much i know that dont know if my car would get me to any of these shows as they are not close to me .
 
will have to wait and see , i think one of the places i was looking at them had them from £8 { week old } then they went up to the £35 as pol. i am in the wrong buisness :lol: so wish i could get a bit of ground and do this but i would not charge those sort of prices though .
 
You wouldn't get one of each at a show. They are sold in threes and above usually, occasionally pairs. Introducing single hens is a problem -we are in the process of doing it now for the third time this year. Takes us about a month before we risk full introduction, using lavender spray at night when finally put into the coop as extra security and getting to open the coop before light and then sit and wait for a few hours just to be sure.
 
£35 does seem a bit excessive and I'm sure you can get them cheaper but it does cost a lot to rear them to POL, even bantams. I don't think you could rear anything much under £25.
 
i might just settle for 2 of the breeds and hatch them next year but make sure i get rid of any cockerals right away got 5 months to make up my mind .

Yuo can only 'get rid of cockerels right away' if you stick to autosexing breeds, unlike the ones you've chosen. Even then, you have to do the deed on lovely fluffy little chicks. Anything else will take several weeks at least before you can be sure they are boys/girls, by which time it will be too late for a kind-hearted person like you!
 
were are you friend has lavenders and iv some what hope to be mottled mainly looking like lemons though. essex
 
it wont be to late as i wil just go to my vet they dont always charge me everytime i go , my last visit for the dog was very cheap when it should of easily been double although i should not speak to soon :lol: .if i see the boss vet or the very cute one they dont charge as they know my girls are rescued and had a happy life .

i am near heathrow airport , i want a mottled or 2 and 1 lavendar then i will be happy please feel free to pm me .
