as some of you may know i have been worrying a lot about how my girls would react to the tree surgeons taking down the tree in the run , well today they came out and done it and the girls were 98% fine a few times they did freak out when the shredder was going but i need not of worried :lol: i even got 7 eggs from them but i wander if it helped that i kept the men filled with tea and coffee :D as they were very nice and respected the girls welfare and worked as quiet and calm as poss . and they even had to throw the question of 'what came first the chicken or the egg ' at me :lol:
 
yes it is more light now and yes we have a lovley massive pile of white looking shreddings and ummmmmm i still say the egg becasue if chickens did come from the dinosars then that creature had to come from an egg of some sort :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
Well,watched recently somwere since program and they say the chicken was first.But we never know for sure,it was so long ago.:D
 
was it dinosar planet by any chance or whatever it was called :D its about the only thing that no one will ever be able to answer :lol:
 
Quite right Karminski, it was the egg, for exactly the reason you said. In fact chickens are the closest living relative to the Tyrannosaurus rex, the leg scales remain from their evolved state 2 million years ago and chickens are little changed from then because they were and are so perfectly in tune with their environment. In fact in evolutionary terms they make us look incredibly primitive. So a dinosaur began to evolve into a chicken. When each generation of eggs hatched they were more like chickens and less like dinosaurs until finally the 'nearly chicken' mother laid eggs that were to become chickens.
 
I know this comment is getting away from the original thread a little, but as we are talking about dinosaurs I have to say that when my girls are wandering around the garden, they remind me of mini dinosaurs. It's the way they strutt and their heads do that pushing forwards thing as they move. It's easy to see that they are related!

Phew...what a relief Karminski... Good to have that job out of the way I should think!

Pleased the tree came down without much fuss. And did you get the chippings?
 
does a topic ever stay on the original thread in most posts nahhhhhhhhhh, it is a relief but funny thing is though if someone did complain cause the leaves were falling on thier plot {which is why the tree got trimmed } then they will come of worse as even the tree guys said next year it will shoot right up again .

start shovelling the chippings sat morning :( hope the snow aint hit by then sharing them out between another guy who had a tree trimmed and someone esle as well .
