Huge egg

I opened the nest box yesterday to find the biggest egg that i have ever seen, measuring 3 inches long and 2 inches in diameter. I was pretty amazed at this lovelly cream brown egg laid by my Blue (poor girl).
I have only been keeping hens for 10 months. Is this a common occurence or a pure freak of nature?

my old girl had a fue big eggs last year only had about 10 all year poor thing clucked so loud for about an hour after i was tempted to give her a paracetamol lol she sounded in so much pain

I have not eaten the egg yet, have a horrible cold at the moment and can't taste a thing. Waiting for my taste buds to return so that i can fully appreciate it. You don't get one like this very often, so i intend to enjoy.

I've just got an egg this morning that measure 3 and a half inches long and weighs 96grammes.....now thats some good going from my little chick! I'm impressed
