How Many Eggs

We have one of our v large Orps gone broody, was just wondering how many eggs would be best to put under her to have best chance of success. When sat she completely fills the laying box.

Yep easily 10, I add odd number of eggs eg 9 or 11.

i would say a big hen could easily cover 12 eggs or even more. i had a hen hatch 16 out of 17 guinea fowl eggs once.

Your girls should be able to sit on 11 eggs easily enough, do let us know how you get on
