how many birds in this house

i have a 7' 5 foot wendy house that has 2 layers and most of the 11 girls that are in there all sleep on the higher level and only one uses the bottom perch but i am looking at making all round shelter for all my girls so i was thinking of putting the 8 ex batts into the wendy house with the other 11 and turning thier 6'4 shed into my shelter but would 20 birds live ok in my wendy house or is it to small .

Hi looby, technically your 7x5 shed could house 35 medium sized hens. I would just check that ventilation is OK, keep clean and watch out for any damp, however that will be the case in any sized house! With the onset of the colder months of winter I am sure it wouldn't be a problem as chooks naturally will huddle together.
My 6x4 shed has layers of daft birds in there at night, and they are huge! I have some lovely sheds with just a few birds in, they all just like to pack (literally.. :shock: ) into one shed!

thanks foxy am glad they would be ok all i need to do is see if the older girls will except the batts into thier house i know when i put them to bed some of the ex batts do go in there an soon come running back out think they get chased out but surely they will be more cosy if they are all in one shed :lol: know i would perfer that at this time of the year and there is plenty of perches to go round .
