Sorry, guys, nothing yet. Now I really am losing hope! This is day 26 and they're bantams, so they should have hatched a week ago.
Oh well, some things are just not meant to be...sob, sob.

I though Bantams were actually the same as LF am I wrong. Tomorrow Im sure it will be tomorrow may as well leave them until you get chicks Wednesday. You know how things go you will probably get the chicks get back and you will have chicks under the hen. Keeping everything crossed. I cant bear the suspense.

Hi, Val, I think bantams should hatch after 19 days rather than the normal 21.
I've decided that I'm not going to get chicks - why throw good money after bad? I'd probably end up with 6 cockrels knowing my luck!
I'm going to wait one more day and then chalk it up to experience.
I'll let you know if anything miraculous happens in the next 24 hours.

Bantams are day 21 too, though both can hatch before or after the 21 days. Recently had a broody hatch day 26 & 27, so dont be too hasty.

Thanks, ncotb - I'm already on day 28 - surely there must be a time to give up? My poor little bird has been sitting for 6 weeks now. We can't go on for ever.

Yes, I gave up after 29 days. No I didn't open one - not brave enough.

Feel for you...just had a major disaster with a so called fixed incubator...its sooo disappointing...
Just have to brush ourselves down and start again!

Sorry to hear they didn't hatch. We had the same experince last year when we first tried to hatch chicks. Don't give up though. If you get another broody have another go and I bet you will be successful.
