If I look at your profile as a registered user, I can see nothing except your username and most active posts, no other information? Have you managed to delete what you wanted or do you want to delete your whole account?

The day I signed up for this forum I got a spam email. And then another and another.
I regret putting my email onto this place, because it is probably all over the internet by now.
I would like to COMPLETELY delete my profile, and leave the forum.

Hi there,
We certainly don't have any sort of mailing list and there is no access to email addresses except for administrators of the forum - there is only one admin and that's me! So I can assure you that the source of spam has not come from here. As long as you don't post your email address in forum posts, the only information available and that can be viewed is what you see when you click members - but you do need to be logged in to view this so need to be a registered user to see it. (This is why we use a PM system so people's email addresses are never available to others).
I have not had any other reports of problems like this and the software has the latest patches and is up to date. PHPBB is used on many, many forums around the World and is pretty robust now.
I will delete your account as you request, that is not a problem. I am very sorry you are leaving us.

It is porbably entirely coincidence. As Tim said, emails are not used by admin for anything. I've run a PHPBB forum for years and never had anyone complain of this sort of thing happeing.
Did you perhaps not check the setting to keep email hidden? I seem to recall it being the default setting, but its always worth checking to be on the safe side.
I really doubt its anything to do with signing up to the forum. If your email was not hidden however, it can be viewed by people. But most bots won't bother with emails on forums like this.
I always keep a spare account purely for signing up to things online. That way my personal email is never anywhere I don't wish it.

Yes, emails are hidden. As a registered user you should only be able to use the PM facility.
If for example I were to log in as admin, I would see an email icon next to the PM button on the right.
I have also checked our email account - this runs with Google Applications so essentially all mail is sent and received by Google Mail and there are no unusual emails sent from the poultrykeeperforum account either.
