Hi,I'm Graham My family have always kept chickens,my farther kept mainly hibreds as a way of feeding the family 'but I would often got up the garden and see him with one on his lap talking to it or all around him as he dug vegtables.
I have kept my own chickens for about 15 years,I started with a trio of spangled hambergs, and after that mainly kept orpingtons I like the large eggs they lay.
My main interest in keeping has gradualy gone full circul back to the days of my grandfarther, who kept his poultry for utility purposes.
I have currantly got around 50 chickens,a mix of orpingtons, copper blue marrans, indian game, wellsummers, light sussex, rhoad island red, plymouth rock, cream legbars and hubbards a comercial hybrid.I enjoy making my own hybreds, from the above.
I also have 10 large white peeking style white ducks, and quail.
I have also in the past year taken my small holding interests further and got 12 sheep, texal /suffock crosses.
This year I would like to make a start with geese,I also would like to keep pigs, but so far I can't find a land owner that will let me keep them not for the right price any way.
As you have probably noticed my spelling is very poor,if this offends you please feel free to ignor me.

Graham. :)

Hi Graham and welcome from Staffordshire. We had a Texel -she was huge and very naughty and is now living on a smallholding down the road and expecting. So more room for chickens now.

Hi Graham, welcome from me too :-)99 We would love to have space for a few sheep, lucky you!
