Just a follow up from my post in April. I have just hatched 6 Hergnies I brought back fro the UK.

I think not only are they the only ones in Northern Cyprus, but the only ones in the whole of Cyprus.

I hope I have enough to start a breeding flock.

I went to see one of the few guys in the UK that is breeding them and they seem fast growing and very atractive birds.

If anyone is interested in buying some fertile eggs i'm happy to forward his e mail.

Are you raising them for meat or eggs?, either way let us know how you get on with them.

Glad the flying went OK. Wanted to see what they looked like so had a search - they look lovely (and quite rare anywhere by all accounts.)

Very rare, I think the Guy in the UK I got them from is the only person who is selling fertile eggs.

He started his flock with eggs that came from France,

I saw the twitter post from the person you bought the eggs from talking about them going to Cypress on the same first page when searching for pictures. That doesn't happen often in the big, wide world!

The power of the "World Wide Web".

Looking at your location Rick he cant be that far away from you. Jump on the Hergnies band waggon and make the breed stronger.

Cheers

They've turned out nice haven't they, feathering up well too.
