Help!

Yesterday only one of my 2 girls laid which is highly unusual & today, to my horror Tammy laid what I think ( having done some frantic online research ) what is known as a "lash". Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Mine are slowing down on their laying now the days are getting shorter and I've put them back in their indoor cages where they get the 14 hours of light they need to stay in lay. Never heard of quails having a lash but it's quite common in chickens so I don't see why not. They are not usually harmful to chooks.

Well, Tammy hasn't laid any eggs since her "lash" but she still seems happy & healthy . I will continue to keep an eye on her & feel a bit sad that it looks like she has laid her last egg as she has laid so well, but so long as she well I am happy

How's Tillman getting on? A while ago, you said he was showing his age a bit.

I'm afraid to see that we lost Tillman at the end of august

Aw, sorry to hear that, he sounded a lovely little bird.

I thought that Tammy's laying days were over but on monday & then again she laid a shell less egg. Yesterday she laid a proper egg but it was a very different colour to her previous eggs, Very strange, any ideas on what I should make of it?
