Hi Guys

I have a mixed batch of eggs that I hatched last year. The chickens are 22 weeks old. I have identified the Exchequer Leghorns & Welsh Summer.

I need help sexing the Cuckoo Maran's and Lavender Araucana's.

Here are some pictures.

Thank you

Looking at the first pic, the araucana on the left (in the middle of the pic) is male. The one on the right is female.

I could hazard a guess as to the others, but I guess you could do that yourself :-)02

OK; bearing in mind that I've only had hens for a few months, & don't have leghorns....:;
Pic 1 @ back- male marans. Far right- female (is that an exchequer leghorn?)
Pic 2: front two are males; dark marans hen behind.
Pic 3: left, on ramp: black hen (what breed?). Brown chested female. Male marans by drinker. Male leghorn? behind feeder. Female front right.

I reserve the right to be wrong tho' :|

Hi Icemaiden

Thankyou for your best guess!

I was thinking this:

Pic 3 left to right Cuckoo Maran (Female), Exchequer Leghorn (Male), Welsh Summer (Female), Cuckoo Maran (Female), Lavender Araucuna (Male), Lavender Araucuna (Female), Exchequer Leghorn (Female). Back two chickens by feeder I think are Female Cuckoo Marans??

Here try some moving pictures....

Does the marans behind the feeder have sickle feathers in its tail? It's hard to assess its comb from that angle, but sickly feathers would make it a male
Hope you're right though...
