Hi,
A couple of questions in one post, firstly, can anyone tell me what breed these are likely to be, they were bought as 3 week old chicks supposedly creasted cream legbars, there were 6 in the box, I thought there were 3 cocks and 3 hens as the "hens" had slightly darker feathers, but alas I was conned, and now have 3 CC legbar cockerels and 3 unknown cockerelsUnknown1.JPGunknown.JPG
This is what they should have turned out like.crested cream legbar.JPG
My next question is what colour would you describe this old english game cock as, I am saying he is a blue golden duckwing, but a friend is saying he is a golden dun and another is saying he is an off colour, what ever he is his colouring is stunning.oeg cock.JPG

Hi Sue, your box of cockerels- you should never buy chicks that you can't sex- lots of people put all their cock chicks in one box as soon as they sex them and sell them to innocent people :o The three brown ones i am not sure about - but they are cockerels- as for you lovely game cock - he is like a blue duck wing and a golden duckwing -although he is not one or the other- you have it right i think a " blue golden duck wing" - although there is no such standard colour :D so, he may be a cross between the two- but very pretty :)
regards, David :)

Hi David,
Thanks for the speedy reply, I wouldn't normally buy chicks at auction, but 2 weeks earlier I had hatched some cream legbar chicks, so I knew what they should look like, and they certainly looked like the cream legbars that I had hatched, the only difference was the so called "hens" were ever so slightly darker than my own chicks, but I still didn't think they were wrong, as some cream legbars seem darker than others. However you live and learn
Regards
Sue
