Hi just saying hello , i have kept chickens for a few years now light sussex ,silver sussex, and welshsummers for eggs i have some golden pheasants and have just aquired a pair of silver sebright bantams for my son to hopefully show this summer i have one question these birds are rung could anyone tell me whether i need to contact the poultry club to say these are mine to show them ?.

Hi David they are rung by the poultry club they finish with EE GB and a letter and 4 numbers thanks for your reply .

The rings will be registered by the poultry club to the original owner, however I know that people have shown PCGB rung birds from me at major shows without any problems. You can transfer ownership, both of you would have to sign the form and send back to the Poultry Club.

Hello. I still haven't got the hang of all these poultry terms. I had visions of you ringing their necks before I read your post properly :-)11

  Oh dear bantam girl, had a splutter with my wine then!

Back in the 1930's at the poultry shows, often there were classes for 'dead birds' that would be killed, weighed and examined for carcase quality and so on....

Imagine that now! People would have a fit!! :-)07
