Hi Folks,
I live in Tasmania where I just purchased a small property and have started to keep Turkey's, Geese and intend to acquire other game birds for meat, eggs and for trade, I hope to be able to learn from participation on this forums and in return help as much as I can.

Hi Jay, and a big welcome to the Forum - I think you must be our first member from Tasmania, at any rate you could hardly be further away from most of us who live in the UK. We have quite a few members around the world though, and its always very interesting to hear how people keep their poultry in different climates, so we'll enjoy hearing about your new venture Down Under.

Hello Jay and welcome. Tasmania must be an amazing place to live.

You mentioning Turkeys reminds me of our trip out yesterday to order one for Noel, because you can't buy a whole turkey in the supermarkets down here. The place breeds about 100 for sale every year -Gers Noir (black Gascone) which is the original breed Norfolk Blacks came from apparently (according to my book 'Animeaux de la Ferme'). Oven ready at 4Kg apparently.
