I keep them in an 8ft x 8ft x 6ft run and another coop and run connected to it. is that a goodly size run? as you can tell i'm an absolute newby, but i really want to be getting it right.
I hope to involve myself in your forum as much as i can :)

Hi Matt and a warm welcome to the forum! :-)99

Nice set up you have there too! :-)17

Generally speaking 1m sq of run area is recommended per bird, so I think you are OK there, however those are just guidelines, the more the better. Think the top birds are warrens (commerical layers) and not spring chickens by the looks of them! :D

Thanks for the reply Foxy :) i thought the Warrens weren't that young :( but they were very cheap £3 each, i have the second coop set up so that the other birds can get used to the new ones, because when i introduced the Bluebell's the warrens started not, just pecking at them but almost riding them and being extremely viscious! :o so i took the nasty ones out and the other warrens are now ok with the bluebell's so one by one i'll re-introduce them back over a week or two.
At the moment i have 8 altogether and would like to take that to 12 do you think the set up as shown would cope with that? I could extend it if push comes to shove. :-)17
