Hello from Scotland

Hi folks,

I have a couple of Cuckoo Maran hens which I've had for a year. I live in a the country and have a big garden so they are out free ranging a lot of the time. I recently acquired a cuckoo maran cockerel and am having no end of bother introducing him, and searching for advice is how I found this forum.

My girlfiend is more experienced with hens than me as her parents always kept them, but overall we are still beginners and keen to learn!

Hi Rosco. Best introduce the girls to him so swap the coops if possible. Our Merlin was rejected -poor chap is rather small for a Wyandotte and the girls were not in the slightest bit impressed. He was so deflated. Took 2 weeks before Bumble succumbed to his advances and the next evening the fox struck! He'll be getting 6 girls when he arrives in France as he will be unloaded first into a new coop and run. He'd better perform as we start breeding immediately!
