I created this forum in order to migrate the current poultrykeeper.com forum across at some point as I have been having some difficulties with the current forum software we use.

This is a much more powerful software and the site should also load quickly as it runs on a super fast server.

After I heard about the excellent Pekin Bantams Forum going offline, I have made this forum available ahead of schedule with the hope that we might just re-capture a very small amount of the old Pekin Bantams Forum users - they were always a source of inspiration for me and their knowledge (as one person said to me recently) is like gold dust.

My hat goes off to Simon who ran the forum for about 9 years.

If you have any suggestions for this site, maybe categories you'd like to see or maybe a bug I've missed, please leave me a post. Although this site is now live as I type this, there's still some work to be done to associate it with poultrykeeper.com and for the address to propagate around the internet.

Tim.

Good luck Tim, I am an old PB fan, and have passed on this sight to all I know in the chicken world. Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you. I appreciate your support - the site has been running for less than 48 hours but hopefully people will find us if people can spread the word.

Hi
well done on the forum it really looks great. really hope it takes off and have passed the address on to people I know

Hi, not had time to go on PB much recently but was very shocked to find it gone. I hope this takes off - just ordered some hatching eggs so I will need plenty of advice soon!

Jackie: Check out our main site - poultrykeeper.com - there are now a few good articles on incubation and hatching. Try the 'Common to all Poultry section' as well as the 'Chickens' section but we do try to answer as many questions as we can in the forum. Now we have this new forum, I hope there will be even more people to help. :D

Stepyone: We're putting a finger in the air really in the hope that people find us... :?:

I emailed Simon at PB Forum asking if he could put a link up on the PB website to help the lost / forumless people.... I haven't heard yet but hopefully he will get my message and put up a link.

I'm also talking with 'The Poultry Journal' to see if we can't get a small mention or ad in there. A great deal of the old PB Forum members subscribed to this.

Fingers Crossed and I appreciate your help in letting as many people know as possible. I'm glad you like the forum, it's basic but clean and easy to use which is what I like the most...

Hi,I have just joined, I have been trying to get to PB site for AGES, it has helped me on several issues, and literally been a life saver (of a sick chicken!) at least a couple of times. I am gutted to find out it is 'no more' :(
But on the bright side, am pleased to find this site, thank you to all involved.

Hi Sazzblue,

I'm pleased you have found us. :D

We advertised with Google for a while to try to pick up as many people as possible but it's costly and in the end we had to hope the word would spread.

It seems like a long time ago now that Pekin Bantams forum finished. We've made some changes to this forum over the last few months, refining so it will hopefully work well for people.

The best information always comes from a forum's users - so hopefully we have created a place to encourage the exchange of information - it runs on a private server with guaranteed memory exclusively allocated to this site - so it should be fast at the server end and should have a good 'up time'.

We are working on an FAQ section at the moment for new poultry keepers and are always open to suggestions / help and guidance so please hop on board if you've any ideas.

Tim.

Hi I am Gillian, and live near Canterbury. I was also gutted to find the Pekin site gone. It was one of the first sites I managed to get onto, oooh three four years ago now. Not that Pekins are my main interest but it had so much on it. Also the poultry talk site has recently changed hands and now it doesn't seem to work properly. So I hope I have better luck with this one and that it fills up fast. Cheers to all. Gillian

Hello 0:-) :Artificial Lighting: It's a topic which interestred every one who wants better egg production. I think that it isn't a problem and its very simple, but I'd like to listen your opinion about this. What happen to young chickens, or to older.
