I have three Quail two of whom are chilled out birds but the third is very flighty and had manged to hurt the top of her head. I've put her in a pet carrier in a warm quiet place and bathed her head and given her a drink of water through a syringe to keep her hydrated and will make a mash for her but is there anything else I can do or can be recommended to help her recover. She seems quite bright in herself.
We'll be making changes to the run so this won't happen again.

Use purple spray on her head & use a little ACV in her water, other than that she should be fine. Just a question but did one of the others peck her head, as they can be vicious little beasts. I used to have them & one of the females used to attack the other 3 sporadically (2 were very chilled other 2 flighty)

I agree with ncotb i normally i find head injuries can be caused by one or more of the others pecking at the head. She should recover if moved on her own. But if put back in with the others the head injury may return again.

If the head injury was caused by her flying straight up,and bashing her head(ouch)as opposed to being pecked by the other's(even ouchier) 'cos of their sharp beaks. You will need to pad the roof out,are they in an aviary or a cage?
A cage is easier to do,the easiest way is to put mesh netting(available from garden centres)a few inches lower than the cage roof, you fix it for the whole length/area with those metal staple things.Have it quite taught,so if any of them fly up,it gives a fraction, but doesn't allow them to bash their head on the hard roof.
Obviously, the mesh netting needs to be small enough so their little heads wont be forced through the holes by their panicked flight.
The other method is like foam sheets, thet you put in place.I think these need a cotton sheet or something covering them.More fiddly and expensive.
