Just after a bit of info about our hatching eggs... How long do you leave the newly born chicks in the incubator after they have been born?? Also where is the best place to put the newly hatched chicks into???

One of the chicks has just died and we aren't sure if we have took it out of the incubator to early or if its just one of those things?

Our other 6 are getting ready to hatch andnot to sure wherte to put them ect..

Any info, help and advice would be gratefully appreciated..Thanks in advance...

i normally leave 24 hours after first egg so gives time to dry out but not to long with out food and water also leaving keeps the humidity higher so no opening the incubator

Hi leave your newly hatched chicks in the incubator for 24 hours. You then need to transfer the chicks to a brooder with a heat lamp or electric hen to keep them warm provide a shallow dish with chick crumb a water in a small drinker to encourage them to eat and drink use your fingers and tap the drinker and crumbs the chicks will soon start pecking around keep the food and drink close to the chicks for the first couple of days. you need to keep the chicks at 35.7 for the first week decreasing the temp. by 2 degree's every week
