Well done, that's quite an achievement after only a week. I've just got two new hybrids, a Columbian Blacktail and a Brown Leghorn hybrid, who is very beautiful and quite aristocratic looking already, but of course more flighty than the other little girl. Marigold and Nutmeg don't seem very interested, certainly not aggressive, which is a hopeful sign. Nutmeg has tried pecking through the wire of their run, but only to check whether they were getting any treats they didn't finish up. (they don't understand about grapes yet and she did find one, to her great and secret delight - she definitely didn't tell Marigold.) Trouble is, I'm running out of brown or golden names, having used up Amber, Nutmeg and Marigold on previous hens. Am thinking of Saffron and Cinnamon at the moment, with Teasel on the reserve list. They looked really shell shocked yesterday when they arrived, as they had come from the breeder only that morning, a journey in a crate in a lorry, then they were turned out into a field with lots of other new hybrids of various breeds, then an hour or so later I came along, another rather panicky catching situation for them, then another hour in a car, then a new run - but today they look much less stressed and more confident, so I shall have to see how well I can do with them compared with you, BeemerBaz. I only get new birds about once every two or three years, so it's very interesting to go back to the beginning again.
