hallo everybody.
am glad to have found a UK based poultry site. (i lived in Aberystwyth in wales for 4 years while i studied biology, i miss the Welsh countryside its so beautiful with all the lakes ,rivers and green)
i live in halkidiki near Thessaloniki in Greece
i have raised poultry in my garden since i was a kid. i used to have mallards and chicken for many years.
i currently have 3 pairs of mandarins and 2 pairs of wood ducks in a 60 square meter aviary with 3 stone built interconnected ponds and loads of vegetation and 4 koi fish in their ponds
i have 4 ring neck pheasants in a 25 square meter aviary with loads of vegetation cover
i recently got 3 buff Brahma chickens (2 males and a female) ,tomorrow i am getting another 2 females.i keep my chickens in a 7 square meter hen house + 2 square meter nest area. i will let them free range for some hours every day in my yard
i also share my yard with 2 dogs (a 60 kg (120pounds)female Greek livestock guard dog and a smaller rescued ex stray dog
i share my house and yard with 4 rescued ex stray cats(they have a cat flap so they are free to go wherever they like)
will be glad to exchange ideas and info about poultry .i have so many questions about my new additions (my brahmas)to my small zoo

Yes, welcome to the forum. I grew up in Wales, there is certainly some great countryside there.

It sounds like you have a great setup there. I hope you enjoy the forum.
