i went home at 10 am to check my poorly little bantie and as i was walking along the track i looked up and nearly died literally one of my dutch bantams had got out and was sitting on top of the netting abovve the extension and i was like omgggggggggggggggg how am i going to get her down , i did panic and called work to say i was going to be late as i only get a 15 min tea break as i had to catch her . i went in and out the run wandering what to do and in the end i brushed the broom up her backside and scared her of she flew down onto my plot then decided to run of but thankfully didnt go very far and then she got scared and ran back towards the main door where i finally managed to catch her rushed home tonight from the horses after asking feinds to keep an eye out during the day and it turns out some of the netting had come lose from the top of the run and i think thats how she got out its fixed for now but another stronger netting will be going up the weekend .

thats the first escape i have had in over 3 yrs not bad going :D .

Oh no! I've got a coucou that likes the top of the greenhouse. Glad you got your Banty down safely x

Mine are all trained to come running at the sound of corn being rattled in a jug........... ;)

so are mine and she did come running when i grabbed the milk bottle of corn but i think she was scared as well and didnt want to leave the flock , thing is i will worry now until the weekend but thankfully my friends are going to keep an eye out .  they popped over at about 4 pm when i was there to collect thier eggs and they shouted out ' all present and correct ' as they walked up and we all had to laugh over it and at work they have named her steve mcqueen :-)05 :-)05
