Hi All,
One of my hens, a 26 week old cuckoo maran has taken to sitting in the coop for hours on end (not necessarily on an egg). When we lift the lid of the nest box, she starts to make a low growling noises and "chuffs" at us. This sound like she has a chest infection. If we try to move her, she will turn around and try to peck us too.
Do you think that she is brooding or could she be ill ???
She seems ok in herself and is forgaging, eating and mixing with others just fine.
