Gardening with hens

Hello all

I had a day in the garden building a new shed, putting down paving slabs and a general tidy up which ended up just being me moving my stuff around, rather than an actual tidy :?

It was just as well I wasn't in a hurry, a few seconds (sometimes not even that long!) after digging a hole or showing some fresh soil, the feathered peril appeared from all directions to scratch for any possible treats. I had to have three jobs going at once and work wherever the hens weren't.
It got to the point that I had to stop work every few minutes because they were getting in the way of the rake, shovel, me, anything! Then there was the squabbles over who found the worms first, then who could run the fastest and eat on the run.
Rambant is in randy overdrive, he was at them all today. He hung on for dear life with the bigguns. I didn't think he was big enough to get on! When they managed to shake him off, they proceeded to chase him around the garden then beat him up when they caught him.
Of the eight hours I was out there, two hours must've been taken up watching them do silly things.

Gardening with hens is certainly entertaining but not very productive :)

Whats the point of making it productive as they will only eat or scratch up every thing you plant! Much more fun to watch them play and dig them some worms! I will also admit a dark and hidden secret------- do you know what I christened the pair of sabelpoots that I couldnt sell as they are too cute--- Osric and Lydia ----     Ros

Outstanding! I'm honoured!

Got any pics?

Osric the proud!

Did you that the word 'egg' is an old Norse word that originates from when the Vikings first came to Britain? Translated into modern English It means 'egg'!
HI Osric am I being thick here and missing something?
It's not difficult at my age to get confused, life is sometimes a blurr [usually when I can't find my specs] but "do I know that egg translated into modern English means egg"?????

Osric-----I will post pics if you can tell me how on earth I shrink them to get on here-I can't get it to work!!!!I am too old and dementia is too advanced for me to cope unaided! Ros

Well if you've got them onto photobucket, just go for resize like this one on medium-

When doing any ads etc I usually dont have to resize and even I can do it directly from computer-so it will be back to photo bucket if I cant work it out!-project for a rainy day! Thanks. Ros

You're not missing anything :)
The word 'egg' hasn't changed since the time if the Vikings so it's an old word that survived into modern usage.
Another one is 'log' It means a felled tree!

There's loads of Viking/ Anglo Saxon words which survived:

Hope that helps!

Can't you resize them by using Word? You can also crop them to fit with Paint but it can be a bit of a faff
