Frozen Drinking Water

well i lied  the china bowl one this morning was frozen solid even the block i put it on came out with it  i got soaked down the yard trying to fill my horses water bucket from the tough in the field i went to hit it with the shovel and it was more slush then frozen so i got that down my legs :( then when i got home i dropped the plastic water container from one of the hen houses as i never put the base on quite right omgggggggg what a morning  those plastic bottles are wicked to use for small jobs like the chickens waters and they do hold hot water pretty well but not boiling water of course .

I am bringing my containers in at night and putting them out in the morning with fresh.

They are 12 litres and take a while to freeze up. They seem to last the day without going solid.

It's always tough at this time of year but then again my birds are all in two big runs and the geese in another so it's not like I have every run to see too like the summer months when I'm breeding with them.

hopfully it wont last much longer then all we got to do is put up with the mud :( it was funny though as my allotments run at the back of my garden so about 10.30 last night i was looking out the window and i could watch the foxes or cats going all over the place its great to watch the snow brightens everything up so much so you get to see things you dont normally see .
