I'm selling my nene gander due to unforseen circumstances. I have a pair, but in their first breeding season the goose became egg bound and a result almost died. She was saved by the vet and seems to be doing very well, but unfortunately she will never be able to produce any more eggs. The problem is that the gander is still very keen. He is just trying to do what comes naturally, but he ends up just venting his frustration on the goose and seems like he is trying to kill her instead ! I therefore think it would be better to let him go to a new home where there are some other lady nenes' that might appreciate his advances !!
Sorry for the life story, but I just thought it would give you an understanding of why I'm looking to re-home him. He will be three next April if that helps, so he's just coming into his second breading season.
If you're genuinely interested and can offer him a good home please call me (Rob) for a chat.
