Hi ive got a tub of 250g flubenvet but is a couple of years out of date. There is over half a tub but as its so expensive im reluctant to throw it away. Should i use it on my hens this year or not bother.

Personally I wouldn't as you don;t know if the worming properties in the powder would still work. Always best to check with your local vet. Try the new layers pellets from marriages they have the wormer in each pellet, can certainally recommend it.

Thank you for your reply. Problem is I use to have 30 hens so a sack of pellets never lasted very long but when I get my new hens in the spring one sack will last for ages so will it harm them to give them flubenvet for longer than a week because that's probably how long it will last, I'm only getting five light Sussex.

I think I'd be tempted to use it if it was just going/just gone out of date, but a couple of years is a long time and it could end up doing more harm than good ... don't know what will have happened to the chemicals in it so it could overdose them or do the opposite, think you've wormed them but actually done nothing.

I'd buy a new tub :D

Thank you iwescott I think I've decided to go along with what you said, think it's more than a couple of years
out of date. Don't wanna pay all that for my chooks
and then lose erm all. Trouble is will have to try to work out the dose
as I will only have five light Sussex and a cream legbar unless you can help me with that as well sorry..........Lol

Well not sure, most people seem to recommend the 1% so maybe I'll go for that. Spose I've got time to decide getting the new ones in the
beginning of spring, tell yer something I can't wait
