First egg!

Did you know every quail's egg has a unique pattern? so you can never work out which one laid a particular egg, like you can with hens.
Apparently there is a big market for mini-Scotch eggs if you're part of the cocktail party set. Or dollies' tea parties of course.
And weight for weight they are more nutritious than hens eggs, with larger yolks in proportion and more Omega 3 etc.
Perhaps I shall get a mini-eggcup in my Christmas stocking, who knows?

Or a thimble?

I have heard too that they are a particulary nutritious egg..

Thanks Katy-may, she laid another one today (whichever one 'she' is - yes a totally different pattern but as they just lay them all over the floor of the cage when i'm not watching I've no idea which out of the 5 hens is the 'good girl.'
Are yours still laying or have they packed up in the cold and dark?
