Hi Elmwood. I am so sorry you are feeling unwell, and I can quite understand your wish to have the girls indoors. I think the very friendliest chickens are the barbu d'anvers. They will sit on your lap and purr. They are like ragdoll cats. You can turn them on their backs or drape them round your neck. (ONly they don't go very far round being rather small.) They are one of the few breeds that actually seem to enjoy having a fuss made of them. Another is the sablepoot, which I think must be a cross between the d'anvers and the d'uccles? I find that once chicken are used to being indoors they tend to be very clean and let you know when they want to be put outside again. You wouldn't of course keep them indoors for hours.
