Thanks for the compliment - he is called Bauju - after the region in France where we lived (he and our bitch Vikki came with us from the Alpes), where they worked a goat herd!! they are really good with the birds and let them climb up on them and Bauju adores little chicks!

Wyandottes! big, soft, fluffy, good layers good mothers
or
dutch bants! small and mighty, elegant, proud beautiful. :D

I like Cream Legbars, Orpingtons and Wyandottes (particularly Gold laced) and am very fond our three very flighty Brown English Leghorn Bantam hens. But the real characters are the cockerels and our newest arrival, young Boris who is also a BELB, is delightful and will be introduced to his 3 girls next month when they move into Winter quarters -the greenhouse.

Pekins and in particular this little guy

I love my Shavers as they are 'rescues' but for all the way they lived before they are so friendly towards us humans, but I must say because they are so aggresive towards newbies they aren't my favourites. I love the independence of my Bluebell she's like a mini earth mover when she's out freeranging. My Speckled Sussex has a special place in my heart too but my absolute favourite of all was my late Salmon Faverrole.

If I had the choice again I'd have a flock of these birds and also perhaps some Brahmas or Barnevelders. All soft and gentle birds.

Orpingtons!! Big ones, and little ones!! They are great for a cuddle, and laugh the way they run over a wet lawn looking like they are big fat ladies holding their skirts up!!

I feel strangely attracted to Transylvanian Naked Necks. Something very primeval about them. My wife hated the sight of them at first but now she is also warming to them. The next stage is some research then maybe buy some ?
