eggs in pond

Hi we have a pair of runner ducks ,the duck has just started laying eggs .the last three eggs she layed were in the muddy pooy water in their pond which i found during weekly clean out, has anyone had this ? and do you think it would be safe to eat eggs if they were well cooked.

I found 16 in the bottom of my pond last clean out!
I wouldn't eat them.
They get all excited by swimming and forget about the egg!

iv only had 1 in the pond i fed it to the dog but quite offten they lay in the mud beside the pond

More eggs in the mud than indoors here...

Can you try keeping them housed a little longer in the mornings until they have laid?
