hi everyone, i am incubating pekin eggs, today is day 18, should i still turn them today or stop?

I would leave them,i turn my turner off at day 18 and let them do their own thing :D

We stop turning during day 18 and move them into a hatcher -just our old semi-auto incubator. This allows us to start a new incubation batch 3 -5 days earlier (because some could be late).

We do, but I think technically it can wait for a few days. But good to get into the routine if you don't have an auto turner.

Thanks , no I do it manually , it's just I'm trying to improve on the last hatch 3/6
As I met a farmer / rearear at the weekend and got 12 eggs off him
He runs his Incy @ 85% till day 18 and said I might have done better had I ran mine higher than 35%
I'm willing to try this a tad higher but don't want to drown them !
Especially as three of them are jubilee orpingtons

85% is unusually high, the eggs do need to lose weight in order to hatch. I run mine at around 30-35%, not increasing until they actually start to chip.

I agree with Chris, you can start turning from the day of setting your eggs. You have also reminded me to check when my last batch are due! :o :D

Yes I won't run mine that high , it's sitting @ 50% at the moment
The turning issue I asked as I picked the eggs up last Saturday and he said they were all layed within three days , but just left them to rest point end down , & some folds turn before setting , which makes sense ?
