my egg started hatching last night 9pm with a tiny hole, when i got up this morning, 8am, the hole was only a little bit bigger, how long should it take and should i be worried? any advice greatly appreciated as i`m getting abit concerned
Hi, congrats on your eggs pipping! As David said keep the humidity up and lid on! They take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to hatch. In my experience they do a little hole and then won't do anything for hours, when they do finally get to be more proactive they take about 2-4 hours to finish hatching. I know it can be a stressful time especially if it's your first hatch but they will come out when they are ready!! Hope this helps and good luck!
unfortunately things didn`t go well, after 24 hours it had made no progress at all, don`t know if i`ve done wrong but we helped it hatch out and don`t think it was ready, it was still attached by a string of blood stuff and as soon as it came out of the shell totally it died. absolutely gutted and think it was my fault cos i shouldn`t have helped it out
