Ecopetbed

Today I recieved my order for ecopetbed from Earthly(thanks for quick delivery)so cleaned out my chook house properly,and then put the fresh cardboard in,which is when the fun started .
Bella and Bertie bantam always go to bed first,as soon as it is dusk.Bella waddled up the ramp,and came to a stop so poor Bertie bumped her......not a good move on his part.Bella was busy peering into the house and complaining(typical woman) ,with Bertie telling her to shift her rump and get to bed.
After a min or two,Bella couldn't hack new interior in front of her and Bertie behind her so she jumped off the ramp,and ran into my lounge :lol: .
Bertie was most put out,he plumped himself up like Captain Mannering(dad's army)and demanded his disobedient hen to come back and come to bed.He stumped,strutted and called.....in vain :mrgreen: .
I picked Bella up,she was very cross,and she let me know,pecking and yelling :roll: (did I mention typical woman) :lol: .
I carried her back outside once she'd calmed down,Bertie was soooooo upset that his hen had disobeyed him,he'd gone to bed-who can blame him????
But,the fact that the cardboard hadn't killed or eaten him enabled Bella to go meekly up the ramp and into bed.
Meanwhile,the ex-batts walked in with no problems.........

Mine took a short while to get used to it too - but soon went in their house to get to their food :roll:

I've found it's working well on the compost heap - and isn't so hard to pick up outside the house either. My birds seem to carry wood shavings out if their houses everywhere which are so difficult to rake up out of the grass...

I was lucky,just the first night.

I am pleased with it,I drop more of it outside when I'm cleaning than my hens bring out on there feet.I've also found it quicker to clean their house out.
I don't have a compost heap,but,the local tip allow me to chuck it in their 'green waste' so it does go to make compost.
