Thanks . A bit of a fluke that one, just caught him/her as they flapped to try and rebalance, normally they freak out as soon as I point the camera at them.

Thanks Karminski, 2 are Welsummer bantams, one boy and one girl I think, the other 3 are Golden Partridge Pekins which I thought were 2 boys and one girl until the girl crowed this morning!!!, so hopefully the person who advised me on sexing got it the wrong way round and its two girls one boy but I fear that I may have 3 young cockerels on my hands , anyone who knows pekins got any ideas? . They are now nearly 6 weeks and it's been their first few day outside, I bring them in at night which is easy with the pekins, but hard work catching the Welsummers who hide under the coop.Here are some more pics of them taken today.

you need to ask victoria on here i think shes the expert on pekins , just got eggs from her again :lol: :lol: , am praying my 2 chicks are females i will know more in a few weeks time as they are only 7 days old bless them.

The tail feathers in the foreground of picture 4 of their best buddy belong to them, unfortunately they wouldn't stay still for more than a second so every picture came out blurred and I didn't think they were worth posting. They are one of the pair of Welsummers, according to the sexing guidlines they should be a girl so possibly an Edie rather than an Eddie.

Well the chicks are now 10 weeks old!, seems to have flown by, how they have grown. Now unfortunately wittled down to two very handsome cockerels and two hens but thats life I guess. Here are the lastest photos of them. I am hoping to keep at least one of the cockerels, the pekin has been crowing for a number of weeks and is getting louder by the day. My plan is to put him in a seperate coop at night in the outside toilet when he gets too loud (toilet has been taken out), or down the bomb shelter and keep it as dark as possible. My neighbours are all onside, but I really don't want to upset them so if it is still too loud then they will have to go It turns out that the Welsummers are actually 3/4 size bantams so when full grown will be around the same size as most of my hybrids.
