Had a another duckling try hatching today but got stuck so helped her out halfway. She then tried struggling out and I noticed some blood on the mat, turned her over and there's a very thin blood vessel still attached to the shell and it's bleeding. Tried to wedge her back into the egg but she keeps pulling out. I decided to break the main hulk ofthe egg off so it's less to pull around when she moves so less weight pulling on her cord? Her yolk sac is absorbed but it's not healed over completely yet. Have left her and am hoping for the best :/

Humidity is far too low Hanhills. When you open the incubator the humidity dives and takes hours to recover. Best to dampen the membrane with water on a tissue and leave alone.

Hiya :) If you break the blood vessel while helping the duckling out of the shell it may bleed to death, healping out is a very very delicate operation that done correctly takes a good three hours, they also need to do a 360 turn when coming out of the egg to disconnect the little cord from their belly to the egg. Hatching is a very very delicate critical time.
How are they doing now? You must be beside yourself!
