Hi Everyone, my drake has an issue at the moment and I have had him to the vets and we 're both a bit stumped. He can't stand/walk/run very well although he can actually stand and bear weight on his legs, he's lying down a lot and shuffling along with his legs flat. He has no problem swimming but can get under his belly to clean properly as loses his balance. He was on a course of baytril and I'm not sure if it is helped but he has finished it now and seems worse than before. He's also on low dose metacam. Nothing is broken & there is no heat or swelling.

He looks uncomfortable when lying down & sticks his legs out.

Does anyone have anything that can help please....we're getting desperate for him now.

Thank you :-)

Worm straight away with flubenvet, worms can take a duck of their legs quite quickly, this warm weather wouldn't have helped if he was suffering from a high worm load.

Also is he preening? What is the condition of feathering? Eating? What diet is he on at the moment?

Good luck with your drake and keep us posted!

Hi, I have wormed with panacur already. It was the first thing we ruled out. He seems to be eating and drinking fine and has maintained a slightly lower than average weight but Still a decent weight.
