Drive-by dumping

Sadly HP people are smitten by the idea of little fluffy chicks and then, as my mum used to say, its a case of "act in haste, repent at leasure." When we bred ours we had a very clear idea of what was needed. Problem was we didn't know to get the best quality meat cockerels you need a peacekeeper cock -we now have Frankie for the next lot and a cracking good job he will make of it too.

Hi Karminski, that's not our goat. It's one of the two that Dinky and Donkey now live with in their new home.

Trouble is they like a varied diet. Great when they are on scrubland with no proper pasture. But not good when they nibble at anything they can find, like your clothing! Our ewe used to like chicken feed and would go through the fence to get it. Made a real mess of our runs and I was regularly repairing them.

Just had an email from Dinky and Donky's new owner. They are doing fine. The odd squabble in the morning but one takes his 4 hens into the barn and the other takes his two into a shed. So they are both very happy. Some woodland is going to be opened up for them to roam in soon as well -are they lucky or what!
