Needless to say, never trust a dog, but we have been giving our dogs supervised socialisation with the hens since their arrival.
Biggest problem is that Bella (the black dog) really has a thing about sniffing their butts in the hope that they will lay something for her (but not an egg).
Dogs don't you just love em!!!!!

For a moment Davey I thought it was a video of me ............then I realised we don't have dogs and our garden isn't that tidy! Senior moment.

Extremely well behaved dogs too. Happy chickens.

I have a border collie and 3 jack russells. The collie would prob try and round up the hens but 2 of the russells are renowned bird killers. One in particular has nabbed two small birds flying low over the lawn before consuming them. And both have gone for the odd hen that's managed to get into the front yard. It's like someone ripped open a bunch of feather pillows! Never killed a hen yet thankfully.

The third russell has such a love of animals. He barks at them on the TV and has watched most of Attenbourghs greatest hits. He sits and watches them right the way through. He's seen the new chicks but he tends to play too rough. When a sparrow got into the house, he picked it up off the floor, took it outside and let it go. He was waiting for it to fly away but he had been a bit too rough when carrying it and the poor little mite had died.
