I know birds have beaks and bills instead of teeth but I saw a photo of a duckbill and those sure look like teeth to me! Anyone here even been bitten by a duck? Sure looks like it would hurt. If they aren't teeth, what are they? What purpose do they serve?

Talk about nightmares, a duck with a full set of teeth!

Pretty sure ducks can have contoured bills that seem like teeth, but really just helps them filter food. I love feeding ducks from my hands, as it tickles as they are usually so excited to eating and quacking lol.

Yeah I feel like duck teeth are similar to like lizard teeth or small fish teeth. They're more spikey than a butterknife but less harmful than a steak knife. If that makes sense.

ok wait so ducks definitely do bite right? but it doesn't hurt? can they make you bleed?

Not by a duck but I have been bitten a few times by geese. They may not have teeth but their bite hurts.
Now I come to think on it I've been bitten by a Muscovy duck and that hurt as well.

eeeek this is really making me rethink getting ducks! especially with younger kids around
