Hi,
Whilst trawling around the internet trying to locate a female sebastopol goose for my newly acquired gander, I came across an advert on either bird trader or preloved or one of those type of sites, of someone selling a pair of exhibition tolouse geese that had been DNA sexed. :o I was wondering if anyone knew what was involved in doing this, if it was successful, and if it was worth doing.
Regards
Sue :D

Hi Sue,dna sexing for geese is very popular in U.S.A.,and,as far as I understand 100% reliable.I did discuss it with my vet, when I got my sebastopol gosling,we decided not to in the end,(it was also quite expensive),she was a girl.

There are a few companies in the UK that will do DNA tests for you. They send you a pack in which you put a feather in and post it back to them. It comes back with the sex and full dna profile.
