Hi There, I have been breeding chickens for a few years now and am reasonably up with the play on their health and wellbeing. One thing that has really got me baffled (and the vets in the vet clinic I work in) is the liquid that appears underneath where a few of my birds have slept. I notice first the dirty bottom, though this is usually normal looking faeces, but when cleaning out in the mornings from under where some of these birds have nested, there is a very large wet area. This appears to have no consistency but is very wet. I have also noticed that they do a liquid squirt when outside too - clear looking fluid. My birds are wormed regularly. This appears to be on birds that I have brought in and not bred myself. Someone mentioned a stress factor but this has happened after having had them for a month or so. It doesns't appear to be contageous. Does anyone have any idea what this could be please?
