Decathlon the sports store have produced a cartridge specifically designed to shoot Blackbirds, Redwings, Finches etc, they claim it is the most successful design ever guaranteeing you hours of fun
Chnge.org have started a petition against this, I haven't been able to copy the link for some reason, but if any of you feel as disgusted as me by this you can go to the website, and e mail decathlon as well.
Thanks

Signed the petition from Mrs BYM's email.

Here' the link.

Googled it and signed it. How can it be legal to promote the shooting of songbirds in the UK? You need a licence to shoot wild birds and they are mainly corvids, pigeons, etc Definitely not songbirds. (Also posted petition on Twitter).

When you posted this bym I checked my calendar wondering whether it was April 1st. Or that you had had a cerebral incident. So I was dismayed when I checked on change.org and found that the petition was real and so signed it.
Yet when I visited Decathlon’s own website I could find no mention of this product. So I’m confused.

OH got it tweeted to her, with a pic of the advert. she said it was the first time she has seen Iolo Williams swear on his tweets.
Thanks Margaid, not sure why I couldn't post the link.
We have never shopped at Decathlon and never will now, wonder they didn't put good for cats, hedgehogs on the advert as well or perhaps that is their next marketing strategy

I couldn't get my signature to send on the petition for some reason, but I've emailed Decathlon to tell them how disgusted I am. I'll be buying my new craghopper trousers from elsewhere, that's for certain.

How the hell do these people sleep at night?????

I see they had a generic response they put out on twitter to the tune of, "this wasn't intended for the UK, we don't sell this product in the UK, we have taken it down, each company operates as a separate business, we are committed to the environment blah blah"

I would have thought the market for these in the UK would be minuscule as you would need to be granted a special license by Natural England or it's equivalents in the other home nations. They generally only grant special licenses for stuff like air safety due to threat of bird strike or public health reasons. Odd world.
