Anyone know anything about cozy coop?
I'm currently using sawdust in the perch area & straw in the nestbox of my forsham ark. I'm finding that due to the girls sweeping about on their fluffy feet and moving the ark arond the garden constantly, I'm leaving ugly sawdust everywhere. I'm raking it up as I go, but need an alternative that doesn't look so bad once rained on & trampled into the lawn as we all move across it.
Our pets at home has just started stocking it, but not even sure what it is, let alone what it's suitable for (showing beginners lack of knowledge again here).

Just checked the web site BB and it's made from recycled wood. The stuff you put in the 'wood' skip at the recycling place. They take out the rotten stuff before crushing and shredding then pass a magnet over it to remove nails etc. It will compost but very slowly -from our experience it needs at least 2 years. We've stopped uising that sort of bedding for that reason. Aubiose, which is crushed hemp stems, seems to compost in about 6 months. You can't see it on the lawn after that, although we do move the coops. Wood shavings are very fine but don't retain much moisture. They are cheaper and we use them in summer. Take about a year to compost.
