Hi Tony,
A company I've heard off with a reputable business as bird couriers is UKPigeonCouriers.Despite starting with pigeons they also do chooks.I haven't used them myself, but was told that they courier up to 3 hens for a one off fee of £35.They do have a website so may be worth you checking out their website and seeing if you think they're suitable.

I found this one and wrote a short article on them here:

Poultry Couriers.

I've not used them but know a few breeders that use them. I have also spoken to them and they seem pretty good.

thanks ever so much everyone and thanks tim and lydia ill try them and give them a ring
thats great

yes a chap down south got some birds of us and they were very good, the van was well kitted out for chooks.

I have used the UKPigeonCouriers before to transport some of my poultry birds very long distances & have found there service very friendly & very good for transporting poultry. They look after the birds very well and can recommend them if anyone needs birds transporting
